Countdown Electronic Game

Countdown is not just another quiz show but part of the British way of life. Based on the French show "Des Chiffres et Des Lettres", Countdown was the first ever show broadcast on Channel 4 and since then has come to represent a gentle paced, mind stretching game show open to all ages and backgrounds. Even my old French teacher was on it - got beaten by a spotty teenager if I remember correctly.

So if you know someone who switches on Channel 4, Monday to Friday at 3.25 and settles back with a cup of tea, a biscuit, a pad and a pen, then here's a present they will love to receive . . . the Electronic Countdown Game.

Just like the show, there are three games - word, number and conundrum. Settings allow you to choose to practice just one of those or you can play them all in rounds as you would do if you were actually on the show.

As soon as the letters / numbers appear the countdown timer starts. The high quality sound effects are taken from the TV game show (it can be muted you'll be glad to hear).

And when you can only end up with a three letter word, you get lost with the numbers or the conundrum still looks like a Russian word, there is an expert function which will show you the solutions. Oh how easy it seems then.

Now any Countdown fan can really test their word and number skills and see how they would measure up - you never know, it might be just the shove they need to sign up to be a contestant themselves.

The Countdown Electronic Game is available online for £29.95 click here for more details
