Hansel and Courtney and their trail of Wotsits, Jack and the Weedstalk, The Emperor and the New Tracksuit, Snow White and the Seven Dads, Bling-erella . . . and many many more updated, foul-mouthed, chavved-up versions of our favourite childhood storybook characters.
The Asbo Fairy Tales is designed to resemble a traditional book of fairy stories, with great comic illustrations. Not quite as traditional as first glance might suggest, these hilarious reworkings of the childrens classic stories are a wonderfully acerbic look at today's society including some great implied references to popular culture in the form of the likes of Jeremy Kyle and Simon Cowell.
Enjoy the tale of Little Red Riding Hoodie, laugh out loud at the Crack Piper of Camden (mistakenly enlisted to rid London of its rats) and see the funny side of Sleep-In Beauty, who is cursed with an addiction to "fairydust".
It is a very amusing read for the cynically minded - obviously the adult humour makes these fairy tales unsuitable for young children.
This book would make a great (adult) stocking filler. There should be one of these in toilets all across the land!
